Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Orbit Sales — what it does, what it connects to, what it costs, and how it scales. Talk to us if your question isn't here.
1. What is Orbit Sales?
A field-sales App for the person standing in front of a customer — running a popup, working a wholesale account, finishing a delivery, walking a farmers' market circuit. Customer history, catalog, order-taking, payment, visit notes, reminders, and follow-up live in one App on one screen, online or offline.
2. Does Orbit Sales replace my CRM, Shopify, or QuickBooks?
No. Orbit Sales is not a CRM, not a marketing platform, and not accounting software. It connects to the tools you already pay for and routes data between them. Your CRM, mailing list, accounting, and e-commerce keep working the way they already do — Orbit Sales feeds data into them and reads data out of them.
3. Which apps and services does Orbit Sales connect to?
Orders, products, customers, and inventory: Shopify, WooCommerce, Square. Accounting: QuickBooks Online. Payments: Square Web Payments, Authorize.net, plus payment links from Square, WooCommerce, QuickBooks, and Authorize.net. Email: Mailchimp (via Mandrill), Brevo, Gmail. SMS: Twilio. Scheduling: Google Calendar (two-way). Mapping and prospecting: Google Maps, Google Places.
4. Does the App work offline?
Yes. The mobile App is offline-first. Visits, notes, and orders are captured on the device and sync when the connection returns. Built for loading docks, rural routes, and any location where the signal drops.
5. What platforms does Orbit Sales run on?
iOS and Android as an installable App with your logo on the home screen. Also works on iPad, laptop, and PC. Mobile-first, but the same App works wherever your team works.
6. How does pricing work?
Three tiers, same base on every plan:
Solo — $200/month + 2% of orders originated in Orbit Sales. For revenue under $10K/month.
Team — $200/month + 1% of orders originated. For $10K–$50K/month.
Enterprise — negotiated rate or a custom flat quarterly or annual fee. Over $50K/month.
Unlimited users on every plan. The same full product on every plan. As you grow into the next band, your effective rate drops the month you cross.
7. What counts toward the percentage share of orders?
Counted: orders that started in Orbit Sales — wholesale orders placed in the Store App, orders submitted by an affiliate, orders a rep enters on the road, customer orders placed in the Marketplace App, and any order a rep creates that the customer pays through a Shopify, Square, or QuickBooks payment link Orbit Sales sent.
Not counted: orders that started somewhere else and just sync over for record-keeping — a direct D2C checkout on your Shopify or WooCommerce store, a Square retail sale rung up at a counter, an order typed straight into QuickBooks.
8. Are users charged per seat?
No. Unlimited users on every plan — every rep, every driver, every back-office person, every retailer who logs in to place B2B orders. No per-seat fees on any plan.
9. Will I have to migrate or re-platform when I grow?
No. Moving from Solo to Team to Enterprise is a billing change, not a migration. Same data, same App, same integrations — the band you're in moves, the product doesn't change.
10. Can it run a one-person business?
Yes. The Solo plan is built for stages 1–2 — a solo operator, a market stall, a small home business. Start with one person and a phone; keep orders, customers, and a day's route in one place.
11. Can it run a large field-sales team?
Yes. The architecture came out of prior experience building field-sales Apps for teams of hundreds of reps. Each business's data is isolated at the database level. API, scheduler, payments, and marketplace run on separate worker processes so one load doesn't starve another.
12. What is the Marketplace App?
A customer-facing installable App under your brand. Your customers install it on iPhone or Android with your logo on the home screen, browse your catalog, and check out. Orders land in your existing systems.
13. What is the Affiliate App?
One App that serves both casual word-of-mouth referrers and full-time professional affiliates. Shareable referral links, native share to whichever Apps the user has installed (social, messaging, SMS, email), commission history, store credit issued as discount codes, and a read-only view of the orders each affiliate drove. Your logo on the home screen of every affiliate's phone.
14. What is the Store App for B2B customers?
A customer-facing ordering App for your wholesale retailers. They install it under your brand, see your catalog, place orders that land in your existing systems, and get order confirmations and payment links back. Running in production today with Bob The Dog's retail accounts.
15. How do payment links work?
For net-30 accounts, B2B customers, or anyone you'd rather not collect a card from in person, Orbit Sales generates a payment link backed by Square, WooCommerce, QuickBooks, or Authorize.net. The customer receives an email with a "Complete Payment" button and pays on the provider's hosted page. The transaction records against the order when it clears.
16. Does Orbit Sales handle wholesale pricing?
Yes. Wholesale prices are stored as price overrides per SKU per customer (or per price group). They stand outside the discount pipeline because they replace the price rather than reducing it — standing agreements without per-order configuration.
17. Does Orbit Sales handle B2B invoicing?
Yes, through QuickBooks Online. B2B orders auto-create QuickBooks invoices with a payment link built in. Connections stay active automatically so they don't quietly drop. Built and validated with Bob The Dog.
18. How do on-my-way and running-late notifications work?
One tap on the route runner sends "on my way" or "running late +10 / +15 / +30 minutes" to the customer. Dispatch sees the same update at the same time. Reps don't break stride; the office sees the status change live. Available over email, SMS, or in-App.
19. Does Google Calendar sync work both ways?
Yes. Visits in Orbit Sales push to Google Calendar as events. Calendar events pull back as visits. Reminders sync too. Useful for teams already living in Google Workspace.
20. What does starting a trial look like?
A short demo, a real conversation about your stack, and a trial that starts with your real data — not a sandbox. Pricing is provisional and grandfathers at signup, so early customers stay at early rates as Orbit Sales moves out of beta. Talk to us to start.
